Yogurt Cake

Ok here is the recipe for all of those who were wondering about yogurt cake.... You can't knock it tilll you've tried it... Its super yummy... its a bit denser, but very lite tasting... I LOVE IT :)

1 box of white or yellow cake mix
2 egg whites
1 cup of water
2 yogurts (I use light = less calories)(pick your flavor... vanilla, strawberry, blueberry)

Mix together and bake in a 9 x 13 pan as box directs.

Then let it cool. Once cool mix together 2 yogurts and a container of cool whip ( I use the light=less calories) And spread on top of the cake. Then if fruit is in season, you can add strawberries or blueberries or any type of berry on top, If not that's ok too. And then put in the fridge for an hour and let it all get cold and then serve... enjoy!

Boomerang Kid?

GOOD BYE JOBS HELLO MOM AND DAD-Associated PRESS

WASHINGTON- Faced with limitied job options, many young adults are turning to an old standby to weather the recession: moving back in with mom and dad.

Nearly 1 in 7 parents with grown children say they had a "boomerang kid" move back home in the past year, according to a study relased Tuesday by the Pew Research Center. In a turnabout in the rite of passage in which a college graduate finds a job and an apartment, many are returning to their parent's empty nest because of tight finances or as they pursue and advanced degree.

"The journey home for Thanksgiving won't be quite so far this year for many adults" ... Instead of traveling across country or across town, many grown sons or daughters will be coming to dinner frmo their old bedroom down the hall."

This is a fun article I found that I guess describes me... I guess i'm aka "boomerang kid" and will be coming from down the all and not across the map for thanksgiving dinner... which is fine with me... i'm not a fan of a 14 hour drive anyways

UPDATE OF MY LIFE

Well heres the scoop.... I am currently working for a podiatrist as a Medical Assitant and thoroughly enjoying it. I have been studying since I have graduated for my Certification test....

In the mean time had applied to the Nursing program here, which is a lottery draw... Well after the long waiting time, I didn't get in. So I will try again in March. I guess you need luck when it comes to a draw...

My little Brother Daniel who is currently going to Utah State Got his mission call. He is going to San Antonio Texas Spanish Speaking... He leaves January 27th and i believe he will be speaking in chruch the 24th... but that might still be in the makings....

So... I guess you can say I've been really nervous... If I don't pass Its another 200 bucks to take the test and I would have to wait another 6 months for another shot.... Well Saturday was the day I woke up at the butt crack of dawn and drove to fresno to take the 3 hour test.....

DRUM ROLL PLEASE ..... :)

I PASSED!!!! I am a Certified Medical Assistant...

I cannot take any credit at all... lets just say many many many prayers were said , and answered :)

Happy Halloween

So this year my mom and sister and I decided to brainstorm for some costumes... With a little additiongs from the halloween store, we were able to come up with some pretty creative costumes.... We took two of my high school choir dresses , a little snip snip snip and came up with.........

A french maid and a witch :)

Mary's Farewell Weekend

So Mary decided to go on a mission, which meant I had to go to utah :) and see everyone.... Well it didn't get started off the way I thought it would. My flight was to leave bakersfield thursday night... after all the hustle and bustle and getting there and getting checked in 5 mintues before we are supposed to board, they decide to tell us our flight has been delayed... well i had a connecting flight in pheonix which only had 20 min lay over.. which meant if this flight was delayed i would be running... and possibly miss it... well come to find out the reason for the delayed flight was the whole hot air ballon an the missing kid in COLorado..... dang parents.... anyways so come to find out the flight was going to be an hour late, so i had to go home and try again the next morning....Well once I got there things were better....

Got there friday and mary and stien picked me up and we grabbed a bit to eat.. and then mary and I took a nap before the nights events.... after our LONG NAP we got ready and picked sara up and then went to our good friend Brian Walkers wedding reception in ALpine.... But lets just say the directions were what the street signs said and it took us an hour to find the place :) Well we finally got there and it was awesome, it was at an art gallary, super cool. Well brian and his bride looked great and so Happy... We were so happy for him! Congrats brian....

After than we ran to diner and met a group of friends. I twas great to see everyone... Its been hard living in cali when everyone has been in utah playing without me... but it was great to see everyone... We ate up at the good Texas Roadhouse... in honor of Mary and then went to a kareokee bar in Salt Lake... That was interesting, but fun..

Then Saturday I went with Sheree to a baptism and then we did some shopping ;) But i didn't have to shoes to properly enjoy the sites... hahah

Then we met up and played games back at marys house.... Then hit the sack to get some sleep bore the long day ahead of us...

Sunday mary gave a great talk. We were sitting waiting for her talk and realized we were all wearing black... we are sad she is going, but She is going to make a great missionary, and i'm jealous that Texas has my good friend, but i guess i can share her for 18 months.....
Monday we slept in, and then packed up and went to see Sheree and her class and to see her in action as a teacher, which was super fun... then i had to get back to the airport to make my flight.... then had a long layover in phonix and my old roomate Janea lives there and she picked me up and we went to Dinner. It was so great to see her!!!! She is and has always been such a great friend and sweet person :)
OVER ALL A WELL NEEDED AND FUN TRIP :)

Labor Day weekend

So I know i'm really bad at blogging... I guess it comes in spurts.... Well here are the latest events....

So WE went up to Big Meadow this year for and went camping.... It was great, but i'm realizing i'm not as young as I used to... The whole i can sleep any where is not the truth anymore.... Lets just say it was cold, the cyotes were yelling to each others, and the ground was hard... enough of my complaining, but during the day it was great. Some good old dutch oven cooking, thanks to my dad and our normal adventures and hikes. I love the mountains... the fresh clean air. and just the fact to enjoy nature at its best.

Graduation....

Guess what, I finally did it... I graduated.... But it also feels like I just started.... But this time was very bitter sweet. I did a lot of relfection of what really happened over the past four years...

  1. I learned how to study.... I spent many late nights in the library ( I even worked there)
  2. I learned how to make true friends quickly... and then learn how to say good bye soon after (semesters were only 14 weeks)
  3. I learned how to layer... When its 30 below 0 you can't have enough layers on......
  4. I learned that you walk on the balls of your feet, not your heels when there is ice on the ground, or you will be flat on your butt fast.... (i learned the hard ways....)
  5. I learned that friends come and go, but some will stay there through everything...
  6. I learned what it really feels like to have your nose hairs freeze because its really cold...
  7. I learned things about myself I wouldn't have learned any other way...
  8. I learned how you can miss the warmth of the sun when you don't have it...
  9. I learned How important family is...
  10. I Learned, its important to tell those you love them, whenever you see them...

These aren't the things you would expect someone to say they learned when they were at college, but tese are only a FEW things that I learned.

My family came up , and both sets of grandparents... Loved them for it. They are the support that helped me keep on going. and I love them so much for that! Thanks...This ends the chapter for familiarity and off to a new chapter of the unknown... I wish I knew what holds in my future... But i'm excited to see...
